My Partner, My Dog...

Martha writes: "I'm a single 28 year old woman. I have an active social life and hope to find a great partner in life. Until then, I have had the love of my amazing dachshund, Jaspar. Unfortunately, he recently died and I've ben in total shock. People who have no pets think I am nuts for feeling this way about a dog. Do you think I'm overreacting to feel such sadness in losing my pooch?
