WSDOT Workers Nab Suspected Drunk Driver & Passenger
Driver & passenger fled scene after crash

Washington State Department of Transportation workers took on double duty early Friday when they helped catch a couple people trying to run from the scene of a car crash on Mercer Island.
Police say the single-vehicle crash happened around 3 am near the Island Crest off ramp. The car hit a concrete barrier on the side of the road.
Police say the driver was drunk and both occupants in the vehicle tried to run from the scene.
WSDOT workers were doing construction nearby and tackled the two people and handed them over to State Patrol.
