Police Hope Cash Will Lead Them To Green Lake Spiker
Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound Putting Up Reward Money

A local crime fighting organization is hoping cold hard cash will generate tips in the Green Lake spiking case. Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound is offering a $1,000 reward for information about the person who placed 45 metal spikes on the bottom of the lake.
Crime Stoppers will be putting up flyers all around Green Lake later this week, soliciting tips for Seattle Police.

Neighbors like Alley Kloba wonder about the motive behind the sinister sticks that were placed near the old Amphitheater and boat deck at West Green Lake.
"Are you after the people who let their dogs on the beach, are you after the people trying to get healthy by swimming," said Kloba.
A Seattle man actually cut his foot on one of the sharpened 3 inch metal tips last week. That's not a comforting thought for triathletes like Janet Palmer that train in Green Lake.
"I thought it was terrible, there are some sick individuals out there. I can't imagine what kind of person would injure others," said Palmer.
Seattle Police divers combed the watery edges of Green Lake last week, and pulled up dozens of rusty spikes. Investigators say the case is a top priority, but so far no arrests have been made.
Jennifer Adams worries the innocence of Green Lake has been shattered by this unusual crime.
"This seems to be one of the last places you kind of feel safe coming down with your family. I guess it was bound to happen sooner or later," said Adams.
With the person who spiked Green Lake still out there, Jennifer Adams hopes the Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound flyer and offer of a reward will motivate someone to give police the break they need to solve the case.
"If someone saw something or knew something they would definitely come forward," said Adams.
Anyone with information about the person who put the Spikes in Green Lake can call Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound at 1-800-222-TIPS or Text; Tip486 to 274637(CRIMES).
Police divers will be back in the water at Green Lake on Friday looking for more metal spikes.
