Brian
Callanan is a reporter for Q13 FOX News This Morning, weekdays 5-9 am.
Brian has been with Q13 FOX News since April 2000, longer than any other reporter
on our staff. He's covered stories ranging from the Nisqually earthquake and
Seattle Mardi Gras riots to the flooding that rocked our region in the spring
of 2007. He's an Emmy nominee many times over, and won an Emmy for Sports Reporting
in 1998.
Brian is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley. His news career
stretches back to 1995, when he began working in Roseburg, Oregon, as a news
reporter and sports anchor. He had those same duties while working for four
years in Spokane, and brought that versatility to the Q13 FOX News team, where
he has served as a reporter, South Sound bureau chief, and fill-in news and
sports anchor over the past seven years.
That versatility extends to Brian's news expertise, which includes undercover
crime reporting with Tacoma's vice squad and its efforts to break up prostitution
rings in Pierce County, continuing coverage of the sacrifices of our local military
in action overseas, and even live reporting from Seattle's American Idol auditions.
Brian lives with his wife and two children in Seattle. He enjoys baseball, triathlons,
and playing sax and singing with his band, Civilized Animal.
