Maria Arcega-Dunn anchors Q13 FOX News This Morning weekdays. She joins the Q13 FOX news team after almost 6 years as an evening anchor and reporter for FOX 6 News in San Diego.
Maria brings with her a rich heritage and professional background. Born and raised in Canada, to Filipino and Spanish parents - she has had an impressive
career as a broadcast journalist. Over the last decade, Maria has worked as
an anchor and reporter for a number of International TV News Networks in several different countries. She was the first female, Asian television reporter and anchor in Alberta, Canada for CISA news with Canadas Global News Network. Maria has also worked as an anchor and correspondent for CNN International, and ABS-CBN News Network. Based at the CNN Asia Bureau in Hong Kong and then in Manila she anchored two separate English news programs, the Southeast Asian Report for CNN Asia and the CNN National News Philippines. She was then promoted to main anchor for two separate English news shows for the Southeast Asian News networkABS-CBN. While in Asia, Maria was able to cover many historic, global events - the civil war in East Timor, Al Qaeda attacks in Indonesia, the capture of hostages by the Al Qaeda Moro Islamic Liberation Front and the turnover of Hong Kong.
In addition to her work as a television journalist, Maria lends quite a bit of her free time to various community organizations such as Asian American organizations, Pacific Islander community youth groups, The Pan Pacific Police Officers Association, and the GLBT community. Maria is passionate about the fight against HIV/AIDS and is involved with various National AIDS groups. She is a member of numerous professional organizations such as the Asian American Journalists Association and the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
