Grandma's Maximum Living Secret Eggnog
December 13, 2007
Eggnog is the seasons most misunderstood drink, and from my research most eggnog
discussions develop around everything from how good it is for you to recounting
a bad experience you had with it as a child. Well I am here to tell you that I
got Grandma's permission to share with you her secret recipe. A recipe that will
definitely make eggnog your beverage of choice for many holiday seasons to come!

Ingredients:
12 eggs, separated (wash eggs thoroughly before cracking)
6 cups milk
2 cups heavy whipping cream
1 ½ cups sugar
2 teaspoons ground nutmeg
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon cinnamon
¾ cup of your favorite alcohol from the list below. If more is needed add
it to the finished drink in individual servings.
* Pick your favorite alcohol to add from the following: Brandy, Bourbon, Meyers
Rum or Kahlua.
Directions:
In a large bowl with mixer, beat egg yolks together with the sugar for approximately 10 minutes. You will know it is done when the mixture is firm and is the color light yellow butter. Very slowly add in *your favorite alcohol- just a little at a time.
Once you have added the alcohol, allow the mixture to cool in the fridge for up to 6 hours minimum 1 hour. Thirty minutes before your guests arrive, stir the milk into the chilled yolk mixture. Stir in 1 ½ teaspoons ground nutmeg and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. In a separate bowl, beat the cream and vanilla with a mixer on high speed until the cream forms stiff peaks. In another bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
Gently fold the cream into the egg mixture. After ladling into your cups, garnish with the remainder of the ground nutmeg.
This recipe should serve about 8 people, have fun and remember
YOU CAN DO IT!
